Created with Adidas Football, Homeground, 24 Productions, and Stink Films, this film celebrates Manchester United’s Away Kit through the lens of the city’s youth culture. Narrated by the legendary John Cooper Clarke, it reflects the character of Manchester through its tone, texture, and unapologetic attitude.
Produced and directed at Golden Wolf, the piece builds from archival imagery and footage, combining it with design and motion to create something that feels both nostalgic and contemporary. A layered portrait of the city and the people who define it!

To build the visual language, we dug into Manchester United’s archives: sourcing photography, footage, memorabilia and fan-driven ephemera, and transformed it into dynamic motion collages.
These elements were cut, layered and animated to create sequences that feel raw, energetic and rooted in the club’s history and community spirit. The result is a film that blends authentic archival texture with bold design and contemporary animation.

Our search through Manchester United’s archives uncovered a wide mix of material: from vintage match photography and press clippings to fan memorabilia, zines, and forgotten video fragments.
Each discovery offered a different lens on the club’s story, helping us piece together a rich visual tapestry that celebrates both its legacy and its culture.
